Official blog of itsdEx is alive

The itsdEx official blog is alive and kicking, as you can see since you are reading this post. The blog is going to cover a neutral point of view of all of the major web site stats available, with a slant towards free, non paid services. Where possible paid products and services will also be discussed, but in general that would be if we already kicked down and paid for the product and service because there is no free or open source version available. Our geek slant is that if there is an open source, free and partially completed product and service then we’re willing to hack and program it into commercial readiness.

Since stats are the most useful single tool for a marketer or SEO, the blog is going to cover tips and tricks useful to people that fit this genre. Stats when they are fun can also be the best friend of a website owner or blogger, and the itsdEx instant popularity stats and game are designed to be exactly that, fun.

Since stats and conversion tie to money, and it’s a capital driven internet economy, the blog will also have a bent towards making money programs for site owners and publishers.

Google PageRank, Yahoo! Backlinks, Alexa, Compete and social systems where stats are available will be covered like it’s my job. Which, it is. I’m a full time web professional, hacker, blogger, entrepreneur and geek.

So put on your seat belt and get ready for a fun ride as we start rolling out itsdEx 2.0 in September.

del.icio.us hack sack sought to count links to an entire domain, not just one page in the domain

itsdEx is looking at the integration point of del.icio.us.  We’d like to be able to count all links under a domain, instead of just for a specific url via the method of http://del.icio.us/url/check?url=itsdex.com.

Chime in if you’ve seen this done or have the hack already figured out, or if you are jazzed about just the simple count of the number of links to the top level domain.   The next integration point that will be completed is Yahoo! backlinks, a great metric of the social popularity of a website.

If you are an API hacker, itsdEx is developed in Rails and we can provide you with RESTful methods so that we can add more data sources into the game.  The Big 3 are already covered, Alexa, Compete and Google.

In the meantime, show your support of the itsdEx cause to bring you the most fun instant web stats on the planet, then bookmark us on del.icio.us or on on a personal favorite, ma.gnolia.com.  Or email social@itsdex.com if you have any questions and would like to interview itsdEx for your blog.

Does itsdEx now give you instant stats from Alexa, Compete, Google and Yahoo!?

itsdEx version 2.0 is on the way, with fast and fun instant web sites from ALL of your favorite source. Version 1.0 of the game was Alexa only, and now we’ve expanded that to include Yahoo! back links, Compete, and Google PageRank!

You still get an instant valuation, and the next game tournaments are firing off in September. In the mean time, you can get an instant quote on any domain you’d like. itsdEx will hit you over the head with instant stats, so that you can see the Google PageRank, Alexa climbing or declining stats, Compete’s data or the number of Yahoo! backlinks.

You’ll also get an instant valuation on that domain. The social popularity of a site is factored into the final valuation. itsdEx valuations were within ten percent of the acquisition price of both YouTube and MySpace!
